Anne Dalzell Nachtigall, BSRN, CMF, BOC is a mom of three and a breast cancer survivor who had mastectomy surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. She is also the only board certified mastectomy fitter in the South Jersey Shore region. Totally You, a woman’s surgical boutique is proving to offer more than prostheses fittings after breast surgery. Many women are coming in before surgery to ask questions and talk to other women who have undergone a similar experience. It’s becoming a sort of “support group.” Owner Anne Nachtigall says, “It’s very scary to face so many issues that will affect you physically, mentally and emotionally. Customers anxiety levels significantly decrease after a visit to the shop.” Recently, a married couple was in to discuss and see bilateral mastectomy with or without reconstruction. Two customers were available to share their stories. As Clare stated, “Most women don’t have the opportunity to talk to someone like you before making their decisions. You really have a special place.”
